Whoop-de-doo.
He's a nice guy with a great long-term future, but I just can't get excited about him yet. He has to lay out some detailed policy positions and demonstrate why two years in the Senate (plus experience as a state lawmaker) makes him ready for the White House.
His exploratory website is here; a formal announcement of his candidacy is expected in mid-February.
Once Hillary Clinton's bid is announced -- expected in the next few days -- the heavy politicking will really begin.

Then it will be fun to watch 'em slug it out. Obama's already taken a swipe at the Dem leaders who don't speak out against the Iraq war----illiciting a sharp response from Hillary. The Dem primaries will be fun watching the far lefties trying to pull HIllary and the others more to the left as she tries to position in the center.

Both primary battles should be interesting. Giuliani/McCain/Romney all have similar positioning issues with regard to the Republican base.
